exploring the world of transportation

Train your brain:

Two classic games

by Michele Regenold

Space Invaders

What does Space Invaders, a classic game from the late 1970s and early 1980s, have to do with transportation? At first glance, not a lot. But NASA is concerned about preventing the transport of microscopic lifeforms to and from Mars (see "Space travel" in this issue). So you can pretend that the relentless little critters are some kind of scary bacteria as you shoot them down.

Number Munchers

Number Munchers is another classic game from the 1980s. This one challenges your math skills. Math, of course, is a vital life skill as well as useful preparation for many transportation-related careers.

How to play

Use arrow keys to move and the space bar to shoot/eat.
